Bridges are a common way to treat missing teeth. Essentially, a bridge is a false or replacement tooth, and is usually fused between two porcelain crowns. It can be used to replace one or several missing teeth. A traditional fixed bridge is quite different to a removable or partial denture. You don’t take it out of your mouth, and you need to commit to daily oral care to prevent damage or infection. However, because we use the latest porcelain technology to create a customised bridge for you, your bridge will look and feel indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
In some cases a bridge may not be the best solution – for example, if you have several teeth missing in a row or if your surrounding teeth have been damaged by gum disease. In these circumstances, an implant may be a more advisable alternative.
