Tooth coloured restorations or “composite resin” is a plastic material that sets hard on activation with a special light. Composite resin is appropriate for small to medium size restorations. They can last several years, look better than silver fillings and are relatively low cost options.
Composite fillings are bonded to the tooth and research has proven them to be about 90% as strong as healthy, natural tooth material.
